Our Story

The Autism Assessment Centre is a small, friendly and compassionate team, and we want every person who comes to us to feel genuinely heard, understood and supported.

Our Lead Clinical Psychologist, Dr Faye Millner, is also the mother of a neurodivergent child. That personal experience has given her a very real understanding of the emotions that can come with seeking an assessment - the uncertainty, the questions, the hope for answers and sometimes the worry about what those answers might mean. It has shaped the way we work as a service.

We know that an assessment is never just a series of appointments or questionnaires. It can be an important and emotional part of someone’s story.

From your first contact with us, we aim to make the process feel clear, reassuring and personal. We take time to listen, explain each stage and understand the whole person - their strengths, differences, experiences and support needs.

Our hope is that, whatever the outcome of an assessment, you leave feeling better understood, with greater clarity and a clear sense of what comes next.
