Therapy Services

While we provide services to anyone with or without a diagnosis, having an autism or ADHD assessment can often be a profound turning point for some.

Whether your diagnosis brings clarity, relief, or a complex mix of emotions, the next step is learning how to navigate a world built for neurotypical minds - on your own terms.

At the Autism Assessment Centre, our care doesn’t end when your assessment report is delivered. We provide specialised, post-diagnostic support, parental support, and individual psychotherapy tailored specifically to those with autism, ADHD, neurodivergent and neurotypical adults and young people.

Specialist Therapy with Experienced Practitioners

Effective therapy for neurodivergent individuals requires more than generic counselling - it demands a deep, lived-experience-informed understanding of sensory differences, masking, possible burnout, demands, sensibility and executive dysfunction.

Our therapists bridge the gap between assessment and real-world flourishing. Many of the clients we work with have spent years feeling misunderstood in traditional therapy settings. Our approach centres on psychological safety, validating your authentic communication style, and sometimes unpicking years of unfair internalised neurotypical expectations.

Our Post-Diagnostic Offer

We provide structured post-diagnostic guidance alongside longer-term psychotherapeutic support. You do not need to have completed your assessment with us to access our therapy services.

Therapy Adapted for You

Standard talking therapies can often rely on non-verbal cues, quick emotional labeling, or rigid goals that can feel overwhelming or counterproductive for any clients. Here is how we do things differently:

  • Neuro-Affirming Therapy

  • Sensitivity- and tolerance-aware

  • Focused on understanding sensory and nervous system needs

  • Solution-focused, building personal resources

  • Respects movement, stimming, and breaks

  • Face-to-face to camera-off options, or alternate formats

  • Flexible intensity (50-120 minutes) and frequency (ad-hoc, bi-/weekly, monthly) structures

  • Build forward to a better life aligned with your natural neurotype

Who is this service for?

  • Autistic, ADHD, or AuDHD children, young people and adults (formal diagnosis not required; self-identification is respected).

  • AAC assessment clients seeking structured post-diagnostic therapy.

  • Parents / carers / families facing difficulties

  • Educational settings who wish to be supported with their learners' differences.

  • Organisations wanting to adapt for and accommodate their employees / volunteers / colleagues and offer support

  • Absolutely anyone who has struggled with traditional, non-adaptive talk therapy in the past.

Ask for your free 15-minute consultation today and find out how we can help you with our therapy and support services.
