
Mr Robert Bristow
Lead Therapist
Robert is a psychotherapist and offers services to clients, including therapy and post-diagnostic support to individuals, schools and other organisations seeking to ensure inclusion and wellbeing.
He is a psychologist working as part of a multi-disciplinary team (with a Clinical Psychologist and Speech and Language Therapist) to provide a fully recognised autism diagnosis, including administration of the ADOS-2 assessment. He is trained to assess children, young people and adults of any age.

A bit more about Robert Bristow
Robert holds a degree in Psychology and is a graduate member of the BPS (British Psychological Society). He is a senior member of the ACCPH, whose aims, goals, standards and quality charters guide his working practice on- and offline. Robert has 30 years’ experience in providing information, advice, guidance and support to young people and adults, as well as senior leadership in school settings. His qualifications and experience demonstrate his strong background and expertise in children’s education, inclusion, SEN/Ds, safeguarding and pastoral care. He has experience as Assistant Headteacher in two secondary schools (11-18), and coaching, mentoring, teaching and tutoring adults as an Associate Lecturer and Sessional Academic on two universities’ postgraduate programmes, and so understands typical difficulties and emotional needs in these contexts. Robert also has a master’s degree and other postgraduate qualifications​.

Robert began his career as a teacher and, so, holds a degree and PGCE in German and French, with an additional specialism in EAL-student needs, a Masters in Education (Leadership & Management), and has worked with children in care and as a Designated Child Protection Coordinator (now DSL) in two schools.
​
Currently, Robert is a psychotherapist delivering pluralistic integrative therapy and post-diagnostic support to children, adults (including parental and family support), schools and other organisations. He has experience with school attendance difficulties (aka EBSA or school refusal) and behaviour support. He also enjoys research in his field.
